1975 was the year George Aranda came into this world. George is a product of Lovington Schools graduating in 1993. In 1995 he decided to spread his wings and flew the coup to Ruidoso NM where he would be a mountain man for the next 19 years. There he worked at two different golf courses and in the last eight years in Ruidoso he was the Golf Superintendent at Inns Brook Village CC. In 2014 George decided that the beauty of living in Ruidoso was to much for him so he moved back to the heat, stickers, ants, mosquitoes and flatland of his hometown and bustling metropolis of Lovington. He is going on three years working for the City of Lovington as the Recreation Foreman where he obtained his Public Applicator License to spray weeds and insects and also has the Vector Control for spraying mosquitoes. George also certified as an aerial lift operator, Certified Pool Operator (CPO), and most recently a Certified Lifeguard and Certified Lifeguard Instructor. Apart from his services to the city, George will be teaching a Spin class at the new Nor-Lea Wellness Center 4 days a week. For some crazy reason George loves to ride his bike for miles on end, he thinks he is part amphibian and loves to swim and run. For that he partakes in triathlons which is an event where he swims, cycles, and runs. Oh, and he pays for these events, he pays to suffer. Because of that passion, George has competed in multiple events and is a two-time Iron man finisher which consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and finishes with a 26.2 mile run. He is a three-time All World Athlete, 1 bronze 2 silver. He is a USAT Nationals Qualifier and participant. I just have to say George is a swell guy.
