​Public Works DIVISION

​The City of Lovington Public Works Division consists of the following departments: Convenience Center, Maintenance, Special Projects, Streets, Wastewater, and Water.  This Department is funded through allocations from the City's General Fund as well as the revenues collected through the fuel tax and utility bills.  



​Wyatt Duncan serves the public as The Public Works Director. Wyatt moved to Lovington in 2007 with his wife Tara and daughter Serina. Since moving to Lovington his family has grown with two additional boy’s Eric & Parker.  In 2009 Wyatt was promoted to Water Superintendent and held that position for six years, where he worked closely with engineers and contractors to establish needed water projects for the City and manage those projects through to completion. In 2015 Wyatt was promoted to Public Works Director and has a total of 13 years of practice in public utilities – specifically water and wastewater. Wyatt has his Level 2 Water & Wastewater Certifications, backhoe certification, compost certification as well as solid waste operation certification. He has extensive knowledge in construction methods, materials and equipment as applied in municipal public works and is knowledgeable and hands-on in all City public works divisions.
