The City of Lovington is an Equal Opportunity Employer
- Sick leave is accrued at 8 hours per month, after 90 days of employment, and may be taken when accrued. After 5 years and 3 months of employment, any accrual of sick leave over 480 hours is paid to the employee.
- Annual leave is accrued at 6.40 hours per month for 1-5 years of employment, 10 hours per month for 6-9 years of employment, and 13.20 hours per month for employment over ten years. This leave is accrued from date of employment, but there are restrictions on how much leave may be taken during the first year. Additionally, each employee has two floating holidays per year that he or she may take at their discretion.
Major Medical Insurance
- The City offers comprehensive major medical insurance to all employees and their family members, absorbing 90% of the cost.
Dental Insurance
- The City offers comprehensive dental insurance to all employees, absorbing 50% of the cost. Dependent coverage, if desired, is the responsibility of the employee.
Life Insurance
- The City provides life insurance (tiered to salary) for all employees: $40,000 or $25,000, depending on salary.
