The City of Lovington operates Chaparral Park, seven smaller parks located throughout our municipality, as well as the Harold Runnels Softball Complex, Love Street Baseball Complex, and the Commercial Street Baseball Fields. The four employees base out of the main shop and maintenance yard located at 1005 S. Commercial, which is located inside Chaparral Park. Their duties include not only the upkeep and maintenance of our municipal parks, but maintenance and upkeep of all municipal public buildings. In total, our Parks Department cares for over 190 acres of open outdoor space in which people are able to play, exercise, have a cookout, or play a variety of sports.
